Richard Fromme

Richard has 25 years’ experience in commodities markets, serving as Director of Trafigura AG and President of the Stamford CT Branch from 2004-2011. His experience includes management roles in concentrates, refined metals, mining/project evaluation and bulk freight. He served as Trafigura’s global-co-head of Copper raw materials trading from 1995-2004. Prior to joining Trafigura, Mr. Fromme worked for six years at Pechiney World Trade U.S.A., Inc. and Brandeis Brokers. Richard holds a B.A. degree in International Relations from Boston University.

Bojan Kuzmanic

Bojan has over 25 years in the nonferrous business, he was based in Russia and London for Euromin 1992-2002, Pechiney World Trade 2002-2004 and most recently with Trafigura Group in numerous offices from 2004-2015. He has traded in all markets in Europe including Turkey, and all of Asia, trading primary and secondary aluminum, lead metal, zinc metal, copper metal, managed scrap business and zinc concentrates. He has a Civil Engineering degree from Belgrade University.

Thomas Potter

Tom has 30 years of experience in international trade and commodity finance. As CFO, Tom brings a wealth of banking, treasury and trade finance expertise, across commodities, including origination and management of robust working capital programs featuring bilateral and syndicated credit facilities, non-recourse discounting, securitization, supply chain and inventory finance. Prior to joining GMI, Tom was the Chief Administrative officer and General Counsel at The Titan Industrial Corp. and more recently as Senior Vice President at Noble Americas Corp. Tom holds a BA degree from Tufts University and a JD degree from Boston College Law School.

Doug Pratt

Doug has 25+ years of experience in the commodities markets. Most Recently Mr. Pratt was head of Bulk Trading North America at Trafigura where he was responsible for managing a team of traders involved in procuring and trading refined metals as well as Coal. He began his career at Euromin SA / Vitol and held similar positions at Rudolf Wolff / Noranda and C.N.Wire / Er-Bakir. Doug has a B.A. degree in International Finance and a Master’s degree in Finance both from Fairfield University.

John Stimpson

John has 24 years’ experience in financial markets, his most recent role was Head of Commodities in the Americas for Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to this Mr. Stimpson was an Equity Sales Trader at Citibank in New York and Hong Kong. He began his career at Morgan Stanley in Asia as an Equity Derivatives Trader. John holds a B.S.B.A degree in International Business from the University of Richmond.

Francisco Cisneros

Francisco has 25+ years’ International Trade experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, Warehousing and Contract Administration. His background includes 8 years at Glencore Ltd. based in Lima, Peru working in grains, concentrates, minerals and crude oil and 10 years with Trafigura Group’s nonferrous division as an Operator and Manager in Refined Metals based in Stamford CT, Montevideo and Geneva. Francisco holds degrees in Import/Export, International Business, Incoterms, Marketing and Economics.

Anuj Bareja

Anuj is based in Mumbai working on both ferrous and non-ferrous commodity business development, focusing on India and Southeast Asia. Anuj has extensive training and experience on production, initially working in various capacities with Hindalco/Birla Copper group in New Delhi/Mumbai from 2004-2011, ultimately as a manager overseeing regional Indian operations and leading a 10-member team marketing copper wire rod and cathode to the telecommunications, power and automotive industries. He then held numerous roles with the Trafigura group from 2011-2019 including Director for the Ryker wire rod project, Lykos online IT platform, and of the groups’ refined and scrap trading activities in India, sourcing a wide variety of nonferrous metals/products from the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia. Anuj holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Maharashtra College and a graduate degree in Business Administration (Marketing).

Commodity Trade Managers

Sam Basi

Sam joined Greenwich Metals in 2019 as a Derivatives Trader. Prior to joining GMI, Sam worked at Trafigura Group for ten years, beginning his career in metals operations before moving to the hedging desk. From 2012 he ran the North American Lead and Zinc refined metal trading books. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Loughborough University in England.

Gabriel de Diego

Gabriel de Diego primarily focuses on the groups’ ferrous trading activities. Gabriel started his career as a consultant for Accenture and then spent 2000-2010 at Exiros-Techint Group in various roles, ultimately being responsible for the procurement of their bulk steelmaking raw materials. He was head of Ferrous trading Americas at Trafigura Group from 2010-2015 and subsequently worked independently, consulting in the steelmaking commodities space on iron ore, metallurgical and pet coke, Mn/Cr ferroalloys, pig iron and metallurgical coal. Gabriel has a master of science degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Phillip Essenhigh

Phillip has been in the metals Industry for 42 years, initially based in London but for the last 35 years in North America. One of the first employees of Greenwich Metals, Phillip has been with the company since 1992. His primary expertise is in magnesium, silicon, manganese and any other primary aluminum industry additives and hardeners

Jeff Lieberman

Jeff joined Greenwich Metals in 2008 and focuses on trading Lead, Tin, Zinc, Aluminum hardeners and non-ferrous scrap. Prior to GMI, Jeff worked as a research analyst and Chief of staff for Cisneros Group, one of Latin America’s largest media and consumer products conglomerates. Jeff graduated with a B.A. in Literature from Union College and holds a post-Baccalaureate degree in Business from Columbia University.

Ross Miles

Ross is a senior GMI global non-ferrous trader with over 20 years’ experience within the non-ferrous recycling industry. He has a foundation in physical aluminum/copper production facilities and non-ferrous trading for AMC Group from 2000-2013, and with Trafigura Group from 2013-2016 as a manager of global trading of non-ferrous scrap/alloys based in Geneva. Most recently Ross held global management roles in primary aluminum and nonferrous recycled metals trading for HDP Trading, Kyen Resources UK and Viant Commodities. Ross holds a BSc in Geography from University of Liverpool.

Leo Talavera

Leo joined GMI in 2006 when he took on the challenge of developing the Greenwich Metals business in Mexico and Latin America, then moved on to expand GMI’s activities in Europe and Asia. Leo’s expertise includes trading a diversity of Lead products, Magnesium, Manganese and Silicon related to the Aluminum industry and Copper scrap. Leo holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Costa Rica and in 2003 graduated with honors from the MBA program at Emory University in Atlanta with a concentration in capital markets.

Bitte Heed

Bitte has over 35 years in the metals trade based in Stockholm, Sweden and joined Ferromet AB (now GMI) in 1997 as a trader in specialty noble ferroalloys and minor metals. Prior to this, Bitte worked in administration at Marc Rich (1982-1985) and in logistics/traffic roles at Skandinaviska Malm and Skandinaviska Metmo (1985-1997).
